{2 little blessings}

This past Sunday we got asked a really important(super exciting) question by some of our best friends. They asked if the hubby and I would be Godparents to their two children! We were so excited!  The four of us have been best friends since I met my husband. We've watched each other get married, and we were there to hold each child at the hospital. We feel so special to be able to be an important part of their lives, and more importantly to watch their kids grow up.  We can't wait to have one of our own, so we can share all of those great life experiences. Just look at these cuties...

{Tattoos}

It took 26 years but I finally took the leap and got my first tattoo.  My husband has quite a few.  He is going to be finishing up one sleeve this December.  A while back my siblings and I decided we would each get something for each other.  We threw around ideas and always came back to a Fleur de lis.  We've gone through a lot together and became very close once we all became adults. I am the oldest of 4, and the Fleur de lis has 3 points, one for each sibling, not including ourselves.  We've each gotten a different design and added initials.  My youngest brother was the first. He included an R for me, A for our other brother Afton, and an M for our sister Marisa.
Marisa was the next.  She added a C for our dad Calvin, and a G for our mum Giuliana.  The G is also tattooed just like the way my mum writes hers.

And then came mine. It took forever for me to decide on a design. I kept going back and forth, over analyzing everything. lol I really wanted a certain look.  I added my husband's initial to the bottom, and hope to add our children's initials on either side, if we are so blessed.  At first I tried to draw out what I wanted, but it proved more difficult than I thought. In the end I chose the Firenze Fleur de lis, which I felt fitted since it is an Italian design.

{music play}

The rain is here...and it has been the perfect time for tea and listening to tunes.  It's been too long since I've just sat down and listened to music. I love listening to the record player when I clean the house, but it's been ages since I've looked up new music.  I remember being a teenager and listening for hours and hours to my favorite songs/bands.  I wish I could still download whatever I wanted to make new mix CD's.  I know it's better to pay for that now a days...lol.  I love sharing and finding out about new songs/bands, so I thought I would share a small playlist of songs I like on a weekend like this one. :) Any suggestions? Bring 'em my way!

{my weekend}

This weekend was awesome! The hubby and I went on a date night to see "What's Your Number"...
It was pretty good, not hilarious, but entertaining enough.  We painted pumpkins! Probably my most favorite part of the weekend.  The Mr. did a bubbling cauldron over flames, and I did a haunted house in the moonlight.  I'm not a spectacular painter, but hey it was festive! :)

We made a delicious dinner of rosemary chicken, mushrooms in white wine sauce and baby red potatos...so yum.

And...this weekend I found the cutest Owl clip! I thought it was very fall-esque. :)

Throw in a family game of Scrabble and there you have it!  We should really do that more often.
As fun as weekends are, weekdays bring collapsing on the couch, blog catch ups, quick dinners, and watching way too much awful and un-educational tv....which means I should probably get back to my E news ;)

{looks like home}

The football game yesterday night was so much fun! It did downpour awhile but that's Oregon for you. :) We got a chance to go and eat in the Club Area with our Uncle and Aunt, so that was neat!

 But the best part of the whole day was getting to stop by our future house to see the progress.  Here she is two weeks ago...

Now...
Ta-da! All set up for concrete! It's becoming more and more real.  I cannot wait to unlock the finished door and kiss my husband in our first home.  We are so blessed.

{wishing:birthday edition}

In another week I will be one year older...eeks! I thought it would be fun to do a birthday edition of wishing...and it goes like this...
A sewing machine.  Nothing fancy, just something that works for little, random projects.

Possibly glitter or these fabulous Grey Tom's! www.toms.com

This book caught my eye on www.modcloth.com.  I'm all for having a budget in tip top condition, especially for the times.  This book was published in 1937 and is sure to have wise gems of knowledge on the topic! Plus who doesn't love a cute, vintage book for the coffee table?

 I'm a sucker for makeup! I love these MAC shades 'freshwater' and 'fig.1'. A great face primer would be superb.

I'm so excited for birthday festivities! The tattoo appt. is made, and a group of us plan on going to the haunted corn maze and VooDoo doughnuts afterward.  It's sure to be an amazing birthday! :)

{bubbles}

Today was just one of those days heavily reliant on soda. lol.
I spent all yesterday evening baking up some pumpkin chocolate chip cookies with some fresh pumpkin a co worker so kindly supplied me from his farm. I was so excited to bring them to work but was so disappointed they didn't turn out as perfect as I wanted them to.  I always over think things but I just so wanted things to be beautifully perfect.  They said they were good, but I wanted them to turn out great I suppose.  It sounds incredibly stupid as I write this, but I get so excited to make things and I just have all this hope in the world that they look as amazing in my head as they do in life.  I want to do my absolute best on everything.
Add that tiny disappointment to coming home and stepping into a non-relaxing, cluttered room.  Our house can not get done any faster for this girl.  There is so much stuff in our room that has no place to be put.  No nook or shelf to neatly put things.  It was like this before but not this bad.  We recently took a bunch of stuff that was neatly "placed" in a corner downstairs and brought it upstairs. We live in this open loft which we rent so we don't have many options storage wise.  Coming home and going to bed in all this clutter is driving me cranky.   Work is so hard on my body, I barely have enough energy to make dinner or clean the kitchen.  I just feel so lazy sometimes when I can't come home and continue to work and do what needs to be done around the home. Oh new house your only a couple months away!!
Well, that's my vent! You have those days that you can snap any negativity out of your head, and those like today....where I think I should take a nice bath and go to bed! hahahaha. I guess a little bad should make its way on to a blog about one's life.  It's nice to just write out your frustrations, and then move on.  Put all your worries in a bubble and blow it away.  If anyone is out there..Thanks for listening! :)

{weekend-party}

To celebrate the occasion of my Mum and 2 others birthday's, we all wanted to get together for some brick oven pizza and Tiramisu!  My mum's BF Tommaso built his own brick oven and makes the most incredible food.  Unfotunately the Mr. came down with a bug and had to miss the festivities we were so looking forward to.  He is feeling much better now, and I think the boatload of leftovers I brought home for him helped a lot! ;)
The party went amazing.  Great food, chocolate mustaches, and lots of dessert! Here are some pictures of our delicious party.

Reminiscing about my Nonno. He was also a great cook.

I hope you, lovelies, had a fabulous weekend!
